Dressing for fall when it's hot outside can be challenging especially when stores are starting to sell fall pieces. Today, I'm sharing ways you can transition into fall using some summer items in your closet and new fall pieces!

1) Booties and dresses: I love wearing booties with dresses in the fall. Dresses are great for transitioning into fall because you can still show your legs and you can always add layers with a denim jacket, comfy cardigan, or vest. See the original post to my outfit above here.
2) Light knit sweaters: During early fall I like to wear light knit sweaters. I buy them in several colors. I love this look below. I think it works perfectly for the not so fall-ish Savannah weather. They layer great over dresses too.

3) Open front cardigans: I have these in several colors as well as they go great over tank tops to stretch the wear of your summery tops.

4) Sandals in the fall: Because it is so hot I don't see myself wearing a ton of boots or close-toe shoes (besides flats and booties). But I think you can still pull off sandals in the fall when you wear them with denim and the below look.

5) Incorporating fall prints and colors: When I think of fall I think of all the jewel toned colors and plaid. You may not be able to bust out those plaid blanket scarves but you can tie a plaid shirt around your waist to incorporate your long sleeve button downs to give your look a fall feel.
