I did a thing. This year I decided to attend my first blogger conference. I attended #TBSCon! It's an annual conference hosted by The Blog Societies exclusive to members for three days of learning and networking.
The Blog Societies is "a cultivated community for influencers to unlock the resources, connections and tools necessary to grow their blogs."
It was co-founded by two bloggers, Cathy of Poor Little It Girl and Jessica of My Style Vita for bloggers. I have been following along for several years and have watched it grow.
I was so excited when it was announced the conference would take place in Atlanta. Living only 3.5 hours away made it a super easy decision. I honestly didn't know what to expect because I have never attended a blog conference and I still consider myself a newbie in the blogging world. However, I jumped out of my comfort zone and bought a ticket! I am so happy with my decision, too!
I made the trip with my #igbestie, Megan of Being Mrs. Fowler. It was her first conference too so it was nice to have someone familiar along.
The venue for the conference was at the Hotel at Avalon. It's a brand new hotel and it is gorgeous! I call it Insta-gold! The interior of the hotel was beautiful and the rooms were sleek and comfortable!
Thanks for Colleen of xxii Photo Studio for covering the event!
Day 1 : Welcome Party
The conference was kicked off with a welcome party. Upon entering I was awestruck at the fun booths from popular brands, Goody, La Croix, Dry Bar, Dress Up, Vera Bradley, Kendra Scott and Yankee Candle. I've never had so much fun! The swag alone will have you wanting to come back again and again. It was like blogger Christmas! We spent our time meeting up with blogger friends and mingle with new ones!
Day 2: Workshops
The second day was all about workshops! We started the day with breakfast hosted by the hotel but then it was time to get to work! I attended Accounting by Amy Northard, SEO by Lindsay Humes, Contracts with Ashlee Hightower and Travel Blogging by Alicia Tenise. I took lots of notes and learned so much from each class. I have so many plans for my blog now. I made a list of things I want to accomplish and I can't wait to check items off now! Look for a follow-up post on what I learned!Lunch was hosted by Goody and Mud Pie. The tables were decorated so pretty! While we ate we learned more about each of the brands, their new arrivals and upcoming projects. The day ended with another round of swag provided by some of our favorite brands aka blogger trick-or-treat!
Day 3: Key Note Speakers and Blog Panel
The last day of the conference began with a super fun breakfast hosted by La Croix and Ball Canning. They set up photo-ops and had the cutest little build-your-own stations to make fruity drinks and yogurt!
After breakfast, we headed next door for the key note speakers and blog panel. One of my favorite bloggers, Grace Atwood of The Stripe, spoke about her beginnings and gave us some great tips to grow our blog. We also heard from Brittany of The Lawyer Lookbook on new FTC Guidelines and watch-outs. The blogger panel (Jessica, Alicia, Noelle, Rachel & Cathy) answered our questions.
Afterwards, we headed to lunch hosted by Joules where we were able to see their new fall pieces. Then, we ended the conference with a champagne send-off and made our own flower crowns with Birdie and Boe!
If you're a blogger I encourage you to apply to be part of The Blog Societies and attend the next conference. I cannot recommend it enough. If you attend any conference you have to come to this one! I know next year will even be better!
Are you a blogger? Are we following each other? If not, leave me your blog site and instagram handle in the comments!
Also, if you have attended other great conferences let me know!
